Olivia Laing

Olivia Laing writes about loneliness, addiction, bodies, and gardens, often all at once. Their books resist categorisation, moving between biography, memoir, and literary essay without ever quite settling into any of them. Olivia’s debut novel, Crudo, is explicitly about sex and the body, written in a raw and direct manner across a turbulent summer. Their most recent novel, The Silver Book (2024), is a thriller and queer love story, blending truth, illusion, reality, love, and power and their structural nature.
